The Sport Horse Centre - Success Breeds Success
The Sport Horse world is changing fast, with the market for showjumpers, dressage horses and eventers now being truly global. A Sport Horse is a major investment and today's competitors demand much more from their horses - long term soundness, temperament, conformation, movement, scope, technique – so nothing should be left to chance. In order to produce the very best, everything - from conception through to competition - must be right.
With all this in mind, here at The Sport Horse Centre we have built on our 30 year experience as competitors, trainers and producers, to create a new purpose-built major European Style Sports Horse Breeding and Sales Centre, with world class stallions at stud and offering buyers youngstock, broodmares and sport horses from only the very best bloodlines.
THE CENTRE is situated in the very heart of England, the country where the breeding of horses as athletes began over 300 years ago with the English thoroughbred. This gave the modern European sport horse its foundation in the 1960’s, through the introduction of famous thoroughbred sires such as Ladykiller and Cottage Son - bloodlines which are found today in the pedigrees of the world’s top performing sport horses and in leading sport horse studbooks worldwide.
The Sport Horse Centre is owned and run by Pat Ruck and John Brake who have competed, trained & sold young sport horses for over 35 years. The Centre was built in 2005 on their existing farm premises at Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire, five miles from the National Agricultural Centre at Stoneleigh. The aim being to place the UK firmly back on the World stage as a leading provider of top class sport horses.
Horses produced and sold by the Centre are successfully competing at International Grand Prix level Show Jumping and Dressage and Eventing.
